TAKE A QUIZ AND KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE

With so many skin care products to choose from on the market, without proper skin diagnosis one could possibly be spending money on products that are ineffective, aggravate your existing skin condition and that could potentially cause serious skin damage. Thus, understanding your skin type is crucial for effective skincare regime. Skin is generally classified into four main skin types: oily, dry, normal and combination.

There are three zones that the face is divided into that you should know to be able to easily identify your skin type; the T-Zone, S-Zone and the Eye-Zone. The T-Zone is the area that covers the forehead, nose and the chin. This t-shaped area is mainly made up of oil glands and it is prone to oiliness and acne break-outs. The second zone is the S-Zone which is the area that covers the cheeks and the temple. And the third one is the Eye-Zone which is the sensitive, thin skin around the eyes. Each of this areas have their own characteristics in terms of the level of moisture and sebum, you can be extremely dry in one area and excessively oily in another depending on your skin type.

It is important to note that skin types change overtime due to certain factors such as puberty, aging, smoking, sun exposure and any hormonal change thus it is advisable to re-evaluate your skin atleast every 6 months to determine if the your skincare regime is still appropriate or if you need to change your  products to suitable ones.
